SINGULAR NOUN VERSES PLURAL NOUN----Singular noun is used to indicate  one person or a thing.

Example--Boy, Dog, Man , etc. A plural Noun is used to denote more than one persons or things.

Example--Boys, Dogs, cats, Men etc. 
RULES FOR CONVERTING SINGULAR INTO PLURAL--
Generally 's' is address to the singular to make it plural. But in the given cases we have to apply  -'es' 'en' and other suffixes are added to make it plural.
        Singular.                         Plural
           Boy.                             Boys
           Girl.                             Girls
           Pen.                              Pens
Rules for changing singular into plural:
1)A singular noun end with vowel letter, generally  takes  "-s" t&o make itself plural
           Singular.                 Plural
             Pea.                         Peas
             Sea.                          Seas
            Papaya.                    Papayas
2)A singular noun end with 's', 'x', 'sh', 'ss', 'ch', pounced as cha in Hindi generally takes 'es'after it to make itself plural.
       Singular.                     Plural
        Bus.                             Buses
        Box.                            Boxes
        Bush.                         Bushes
        Class.                         Classes
        Church.                     Church etc.
